From Crutches/Depression To A 100-Mile Bike Ride!

2 years ago, I was on crutches and learning to walk again. It was the darkest and scariest thing I've ever been through. Yesterday, I went back to the same physical therapy office wearing my 100-mile cycling medal.

It's so weird that in your darkest moments, you'll never know what lies ahead. I cried in that office. Thought my life was over in that office. Wondered what the purpose of it all was in that office.

But maybe the purpose was showing me what it looked like to fight for myself for the first time. To give me a new challenge. To hit the "pause" button on life as I saw it. All I know is my greatest fear turned out to be my greatest gift. I do not know or want to imagine a life without the people I've met and connected with because of all of this. They have enriched me, inspired me, humbled me, and reminded me of what truly matters.

Thank you, again, for your encouragement and love throughout all of this!

(With Dan, from Brady Physical Therapy who I am ETERNALLY grateful for.)

Love,

P.S. If you're new to my story....in 2015 I had osteochondral allograft transfer surgery. Part of my femur broke off (I know, gross) and it has been replaced with donor bone and cartilage. I made a SUPER depressing video about it HERE when it first happened. (Hope it doesn't bum you out!)
