SOME STUFF ABOUT SANDY
Sandy is a funny, sarcastic stand-up comedian who loves puppies, penny-slots, and anything with frosting.
She grew up in Milpitas (don’t be JEALOUS) and did midday radio in San Jose for 10 years before getting "the opportunity of a lifetime” here at Star 101.3. While she loves making listeners laugh every morning, she admits that waking up before Starbucks is even open "just isn’t right."
Sandy has completed the Nike Women’s Marathon twice (run-walked….which means walked), hosted red-carpet interviews for Nickelodeon’s TV Land Awards, worked comedy clubs like the San Francisco Punchline and Riviera Las Vegas, and most importantly; bowled a perfect 300 at age 15. She then used her bowling scholarship money to pay for her tuition at Ohlone College in Fremont. This bio gets sexier by the minute.
Sandy's future goals include traveling the world, becoming a philanthropist, and working as a late-night talk show host. In the meantime, she’s just trying to wake up when her alarm clock goes off at 4am.

SOME STUFF ABOUT FROSTY
Frosty is a seasoned radio veteran, having hosted shows in nearly every radio format for more than thirty years. Before joining the Star 101.3 morning show, Frosty enjoyed an enormously successful decade hosting one of the most popular talk shows in Los Angeles. Before that, the ‘90s found him in Denver and Milwaukee doing morning talk radio. In the ‘80s he woke up morning radio listeners in Milwaukee, Louisville, Indianapolis, Omaha, and Grand Rapids. Originally from the Midwest, he entertained radio audiences in Indiana for several years early in his career. But Frosty has been happy to call California home since 1998.
An accomplished musician, Frosty owns a professional recording & broadcast studio back in LA. He has recorded extensively as a professional keyboardist, including recording session work for other artists in Los Angeles. As a singer/songwriter and keyboardist, as well as music producer for others, music has been a second career through the years.
Perhaps surprisingly, Frosty is a certified teacher for K-12. However, broadcasting turned out to be his calling. A world traveler, he has spent time in over 30 countries, and every state in the USA. Ireland is like another home where he tries to visit at least once a year, and he is part owner of a pub there. His hobbies include creative writing, with a book in progress. His love and care for animals is widely known and dogs carry a special place in his heart. And in an obscure note, it is rumored there isn’t a person alive who can beat him in 1970’s music trivia.
You can hear Frosty bantering with cohost Sandy Stec weekday mornings 6-10am on Star 101.3, where he brings his insights and commentary to the world of morning radio. They always have a good time keeping the topics of the day fun and interesting, while enjoying the best music of the 80s, 90s and today.
Joe Francis! Otherwise known as the founder of "Girls Gone Wild."
Francis, 40, was found guilty May 6 of three counts of false imprisonment and one of assault likely to cause great bodily injury. Three students who Francis said he met at the bar and restaurant Supperclub Los Angeles were involved, but Francis says he was just being nice to the women when he invited them to his home.
Oh, and what else did he say? (specifically about the jury)
" I want that jury to know that each and every one of you are mentally f--ing retarded and you should be euthanized because, as Darwin said, you have naturally selected yourself," Francis told interviewer Stephen Galloway. "You are the weakest members of the herd. Goodbye! And if that jury wants to convict me because I didn't show up, which is the only reason why they did, then, you know, they should all be lined up and shot!"
He said this during his interview with The Hollywood Reporter. Who can take this guy seriously anymore?
Okay, this is RIDICULOUSLY cute!
A couple met sitting next to eachother in row 40 of a Delta flight. They were going to separate destinations but both had a 4-hour layover. During the layover, he asked her to dinner. Then he kissed her. And then....
So, I found an article on Yahoo! Shine called "Signs Your Guy is High Maintenance."
First, let me preface that I think articles like this are SO stupid, because it's obvious the writer just had a bad break-up with a dude that wasn't right for her, and all the "signs" are about one guy.
That being said, I totally clicked on it. Here's the list. Let me know if you have any to add! (I've dealt with #7 and it's AWFUL. I hate feeling like the guy in the relationship!)
1. Throwing a fit when things don't go his way.
2. Wanting his partner to pick up his phone calls within a certain number of rings and demanding an immediate reply to his text message or email.
3. Needing to be told "I love you" several times a day.
4. Showing up to places fashionably late.
5. Monopolizing the bathroom.
6. Changing his outfit several times a day and refusing to wear clothes that aren't designer brands.
7. Worrying about how he looks, constantly gazing at himself in the mirror, and primping for long periods of time.
8. Avoiding activities that make him sweaty or dirty.
9. Shunning public transportation and refusing to walk anywhere
10. Styling his hair before leaving the house.
11. Needing a certain amount of kisses (that includes on the end of a text message or email).
12. Insisting upon living in a spotless home.
13. Only eating at fancy restaurants, drinking fine wine, or staying in 4-or 5-star hotels.
14. Refusing to do outdoor activities such as camping.
15. Drinking only bottled water.
16. Asking for a present at least once a week.

After a year long stint in Afganistan, Specialist Larry Shaffer got the suprise of his life last week- his wife had lost 100 pounds!
He landed Wednesday in Wilmington, North Carolina, to a group of 50 family members and friends. As he walked off the plane, they cheered, held up signs, and then yelled, 'SURPRISE!"
As the crowd parted, his 24-year old wife, Misty, walked out; having shed more than 100 pounds off her 250-pound frame.
“I was speechless. There was so much to take in,” Larry, 27, told Yahoo! Shine. “I was expecting only immediate family and was so surprised to see the crowd. Then Misty appeared and she was half the person she used to be. I couldn’t believe it.”
Misty, 24, had kept her weight loss largely a secret, telling her husband that she was trying to lose only a few pounds and sending him photos of herself from the shoulders up so he wouldn’t suspect the dramatic transformation. "There were so many times when I was dying to send him cute photos but I held back because I really wanted it to be a surprise," Misty told Yahoo! Shine. "He's never seen me this thin."
Although she barely exercised, Misty lost the weight by eating smaller portions, drinking lots of water, not eating three to four hours before bedtime and avoiding her biggest craving—potato chips.

This is hilarious!
Bon Jovi will be performing at London's Hyde Park on July 5th, and sat down with The London Evening Standard to discuss the shows, the business, and Justin Bieber.
I'm sure he didn't plan to talk about Bieber.....but he (Bieber) coincidentally had a concert in London recently, and was 2 hours late. He ended up blaming technical difficulties and saying he was only "40 minutes late."
This is what Jon Bon Jovi had to say about that:
"Every generation has guys that do that, none of that is new. They run the risk of disrespecting their audience members who have worked hard to pay for their ticket, to give you the permission to take two or three hours of their lives — or in that kid’s case, 80 minutes of their lives."
“Do it once, you can be forgiven," he said. "Do it enough times and shame on you. They won’t have you back. Then it just becomes a cliché. It’s really not cool — you’re an (expletive). Go to (expletive) work!”
(P.S. This video is TOTALLY unrelated to the story. Sorry!)
The Hebrew University of Jerusalem plans to bestow an honorary PhD on Barbra Streisand while she's in Israel next month to sing at an event celebrating President Shimon Peres' 90th birthday and perform two public concerts.
This isn't her first PhD- she also recieved one from Brandeis University in Massachusetts for Arts and Hummanities.
Way to go, Babs! READ MORE HERE
Time can be cruel. It eventually catches up with you, slows you down, wears off a little of your shine. And by the time you hit your 40's, it's probably a good idea to stop doing a few things you did when you were younger. Why? Because you will either look kind of stupid doing it now, or it will make you sore later. Here are a few of those things, feel free to add any more you can think of.
After you hit age 42....43....45....ok, maybe its time you gave these up:
Staying up until 2am on a work night.
Doing a third alcoholic beverage when you go out with friends. And then singing karaoke.
Entering a wet t-shirt contest. Yes, it applies to both men & women.
Wearing something to the beach you bought 20 years ago, even if it still fits.
Using any slang words you used when you were young.
Joining a band & hitting the road to make it as a rock star.
Playing any sport with teenagers, unless you don't mind being sore the next day.
Single-spacing your "Christmas letter" email sent out to your family & friends. Because, sorry, you just aren't that interesting. Sorry.
Talking about how much you love your studio apartment.
Having mom & dad come over with bags of groceries for you & to wash & iron your clothes.
