If you are at the stage of your adult life where you are doing well and you've got a little cash you can spend on dear old dad, here are some nice Fathers Day gift suggestions. These are way beyond the scopr of such things as a gift certificate to Denny's or IHOP or a $20 Wal-Mart gift card, all of which are nice things too.
But if you are able to do something really, really nice for your father this year and give him a particularly nice once-in-a-lifetime treat he will never forget, here are a couple suggestions. Costly? Yes. A lot of trouble? Yeah. But IF you have the means ot pull any of these off, you dad will be very happy, and may even increase your lot a bit in the will.
BBQ grille.....a nice one he would never buy himself....complete with tool set & good quality steaks & sauces.
Lawn Mower Tractor...if he lives somewhere where people actually have yards, he would love a nice riding lawn mower. One of those John Deere tractor types, with a tractor to pull and a leag mulching attachment.
Heritage Holiday....send him to his homeland for a week of fun. Irish? To Ireland he goes, for a pub crawl. Italian? Off you go to the spectacular coast of Italy, or to Rome or Vienna. Greek? A week in the sunny Greek Isles. You get the idea; send him home to pay homage to the ancestors for a week he would never buy himself, but will always remember.
Ultimate man cave....Trick out his garage; new workbench, new tools, beer fridge, ligthing, fan, and a tv. He will practically live out there.
Restraunt tour in your hometown....assemble gift certificates to half a dozen nice restaurants in your area, and make a little booklet. Make sure the certificates are enough for a good meal at each, something he would probably never splurge on himself.
Well that's the idea.....dad won't be around forever, and IF you are able to give him one amazing gift he will never forget and will enjoy, go for it. This is the year.
